I normally don’t post videos that were produced on other sites but a friend sent a link to this video this morning and I thought this one appropriate to our own debates here on the coast.
This is the Story of Stuff, produced in Berkeley. It tells the story of what you might call the “stuff cycle”–how resources are converted into the things we buy and what happens to the stuff afterward. It’s a little over the top here and there but on the whole makes a very compelling case for a new approach and makes it in a very clear way.
It is twenty minutes long but well worth it. Good for adults. Good for kids. Good to talk about.
Here is a the link to the Story of Stuff web page which has a larger version.
They also have an international section with subtitled versions in Spanish, Portuguese and many other languages.
