Half Moon Bay resident Charles Netherby has announced that is he is withdrawing from the hotly contested race for a seat on the board of the Coastside Fire Protection District.
Netherby cited the large number of like-minded candidates as the primary reason for his decision.
“To me it seemed foolish for four people with like goals to run against each other for three positions. I believe that the three remaining candidates have far greater skills and knowledge in Fire Protection than I. I hope to become helpful with their campaigns.”
With Netherby out of the race the crowded race becomes slightly less crowded, dropping from seven candidates to six candidates all vying for the three open seats.
