The California State Highway Patrol is making a special effort to enforce the speed limits along the Midcoast. At Wednesday’s Midcoast Community Council meeting it was noted that the CHP has designated extra funds to have a patrol car working enforcement issues from 5 am to 10 o’clock at night, and a less intense enforcement effort overnight.
This follows an accident in December where a young boy was hit by a car while attempting to cross the busy and complicated traffic flow at Moss Beach.
Readers of Montara Fog have noticed a pronounced police presence on the roads today, likely a result of the new enforcement effort.
Highway One varies up and down from fifty-five miles per hour to forty-five miles per hour as you drive along its length.
