Armed robbery at Half Moon Bay bank–suspect still at large


Mark Noak of the Half Moon Bay Review has updated his report with a description and photograph of the suspected bank robber.

Half Moon Bay Police and other law enforcement agencies are now searching for the bank robber, who made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Main Street bank at around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. The man reportedly fled east on foot through the parking lot of the I.D.E.S. Hall and somewhere down Johnston Street. No getaway vehicle was spotted or heard, police say.

Security camera footage from the bank shows the robber as a white male aged 40- to 50-years-old and about six feet high. At the time, he was seen wearing a tan beanie, white sports coat and a white T-shirt.

Local police are now coordinating their efforts with the FBI. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective John Sanchez at 712-7305.
