Woman drowns in Pacifica attempting to rescue dog, same location as man drowned last week

cbs5.com is reporting that a 44-year old woman has drowned at Sharp Park Beach, in Pacifica, after entering the water in an attempt to rescue a dog. Apparently she was knocked down by a large wave and swept out to sea. The dog was able to swim back to shore.

This new drowning occurs at the same beach where another drowning took place, ten days ago.

In that event Redwood City resident Richard Serrano, Jr., also 44-years old, entered the water with two companions. Those companions then left the beach calling to others to call 911. One of the companions contacted authorities several hours later. Serrano’s body has not yet been found.
