County to hold hearing on long-term development plan

PRESS RELEASE

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors will hold
a public hearing to consider the California Coastal Commission’s action on the
Midcoast Update Local Coastal Program amendments.

The purpose of the hearing is to study the consequences of accepting or rejecting the
policy and ordinance changes required by the Coastal Commission as a condition of
amendment certification. A final action will not be taken. A decision on whether to
accept the changes will be made at a subsequent Board of Supervisor’s meeting,
tentatively scheduled for May 11, 2010.

hearing include those that:

levels improve;
• Prohibit individual private wells within the urban area;
• Require land divisions to acquire and set aside as open space a
number of vacant lots equal to the number of new lots proposed; and
• Restrict the allowable capacity of public works projects.

The hearing will be held as follows:

DATE: April 13, 2010
