San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office
Half Moon Bay, CA: A male body was located in the vicinity of the Miramar Beach (00 Miranda Road). A tourist at a nearby hotel called the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 0930 hours this morning and reported they could see what appeared to be a body washing up along the beach. Upon arrival of rescue personnel, an unidentified white male in his 30’s was located just out of the surfline and pronounced dead on scene. There were no obvious signs of trauma or cause of death. At this time the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Corners office to learn his identity and notify his family.
Half Moon Bay Patch has more detail including this disturbing paragraph (this encounter occurred prior to the discovery of the body):
According to Miramar resident Steve Meneely, a friend walking his dogs along the Miramar beachfront saw a man covered in blood sitting by himself down from where the dead body was found. When asked if he needed help, the man reacted very “agitated” and “rude” and told the dog walker that he better move away.
