La Honda residents “urged to do everything possible to conserve water at throughout the winter”

PRESS RELEASE

This message is from San Mateo County Public Works and Parks to County Service Area (CSA) 7 Water System customers in La Honda; and DOES NOT apply to other water districts. Alpine Creek is the source of CSA 7’s water. Due to the recent storm events and high tribidity of the water in Alpine Creek, the water system has not been able to replenish the water in CSA 7’s storage tanks at the rate of usage.Generally it takes 3 to 4 days after a storm to have an acceptable level of clarity of the creek water to effectively treat the water to a level that complies with the State and Federal drinking water standards. We are closely monitoring the creek for any opportunities to pump water from the creek. CSA 7 customers are urged to do everything possible to conserve water at throughout the winter. Conserving water can be simple, by turning off water when not in use, fixing leaks, washing full loads of laundry, etc. More conservation examples can be found at http://watercasa.org/water-saving-info/ We appreciate your cooperation and efforts to conserve water. If you have any questions regarding this notice or would like an update please call 650-363-4100 during business hours M-F 9am to 5pm. Thank you
