Public workshop to be held to guide spending of Measure S bond money

The Governing Board of the Cabrillo Unified School District has selected WLC Architects, Inc. to develop a district-wide facility master plan. WLC will host a community-wide event in order to gather public input on potential projects to be included in the master plan. The event will be held on Wednesday, February, 6, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the library at Half Moon Bay High School. An overview of the master plan process will also be provided.

The purpose of the master plan is to identify all of the facility related needs for the district. Such needs include renovation of existing classrooms and support buildings, as well as the construction of new facilities. The master plan will be used as the guidance document for implementing the Measure S Facility Bond Program. The completed master plan is expected to be presented to the Governing Board for consideration of approval in May, 2013.

Measure S is a facility bond program approved by the voters within the Cabrillo Unified School District in June 2012. Proceeds from the sale of bonds may only be used for the renovation or new construction of facilities and to equip those facilities with furniture and equipment. No Measure S funds may be used for teacher or administrator compensation.
