…HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT SUNDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA HAS ISSUED
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT SUNDAY.

A PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM CURRENTLY LOCATED OFFSHORE IS GENERATING
LARGE STEEP NORTHWEST SWELLS WITHIN THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL WATERS.
AS THESE SWELLS APPROACH THE COAST THEY WILL PRODUCE LARGE STEEP
BREAKING WAVES WITHIN THE SURF ZONE. OTHER HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH
THESE LARGE SWELLS WILL BE STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND DANGEROUS
SNEAKER WAVES. ADDITIONALLY…PLEASE USE CAUTION AROUND ROCKS AND
COVES AS THEY COULD SEEM TO BE DRY AND SAFE BUT YOUR EXIT ROUTE
COULD BE QUICKLY WASHED AWAY BY THE SURF.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA…PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH
EROSION.
