The death of the 16-year-old girl from Richmond whose body washed ashore at San Gregorio Beach in late October has been ruled a suicide by the San Mateo County coroner. Initial reports from Sheriff’s officials at the scene of the discovery indicated that there were no visible signs of trauma or clues indicating the cause of death.
The coroner was unable to determine the method used by the girl to kill herself. His ruling seems based on the claim by the Sherriff’s Department that it was a suicide, though the reasoning behind that claim has not been made available.

Update: Mark Noak at the Half Moon Bay Review clears up the mystery of this death and the two others who were found soon afterwards. Bottom line: the girl jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge, as one of the other victims.
